Kalaveshi Arts Studio/Gallery is located in Avon, CT, and is owned by a family of artists, Drita Choy and her daughters, Njomza and Saranda Kalaveshi, originally from Kosovo, who moved to Connecticut from New Mexico. They were brought back together during the COVID-19 pandemic after having lived apart for a decade, and within a few months of living and creating art together during the difficult days of quarantine, Kalaveshi Arts was born. First came art festivals and exhibitions in New Mexico, then the website, and finally, after relocating to Connecticut, the physical location.

OUR MISSION
At Kalaveshi Arts, our mission is to celebrate and nurture the artistic spirit within our community. As a family-owned studio and gallery, we are dedicated to providing a welcoming and inspiring space where local artists, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, age, ability, beliefs, or background, can share their creativity and be seen.
Beginning in June 2024, we launched a series of juried exhibitions that have been met with enthusiastic community support, reinforcing our commitment to this vision. Through multiple exhibitions, we have proudly highlighted both emerging and established artists, including shows centered on artists living with brain injury, celebrating resilience, expression, and the power of art to reflect lived experience.
Alongside our exhibition program, Kalaveshi Arts has grown into an active studio space offering fine art and ceramic classes, paint nights, children’s birthday parties, private events, and seasonal art programs for youth. This expansion allows us to engage our community not only as viewers of art, but as active participants in the creative process.
We are deeply committed to inclusivity, accessibility, and respect, ensuring that every individual feels valued, supported, and welcome. Our space is fully wheelchair accessible, with an accessible entrance designed to serve all members of our community. Through education, exhibitions, and shared creative experiences, we strive to contribute to a vibrant, connected, and thriving local arts culture.
